Goals for 2008

SetNewGoals Just a short entry today to list out goals for the blog for 2008. Some things I want to do/achieve by 2009 are;

  • Increase subscribed readers to 1000 – Stretch goal, since I only have 66 as of today.
  • Consistently post at least 5 entries a week, moving to 10 entries a week (average 2/day) by third-quarter of the year.
  • Contribute to at least 1 blog carnival a week, and HOST 1 carnival a month, starting 3rd  quarter of the year.
  • Officially join the M-Network (sometime, hint hint!) and continue to network with existing and new PF Bloggers.
  • Get a guest post published on The Simple Dollar, No Credit Needed, and Blueprint for Financial Prosperity. (More wish than goal)
  • Get enough advertisers to break-even on the expenses for the blog.

On a personal note;

  • Fully fund my 401k
  • Fully fund my wife’s and my Roth IRA
  • Start a 529 fund for both children
  • Pay off all credit cards
  • Increase our emergency fund to 6 months of money.

Short, simple, not TOO personal.

So, what’s your personal finance goals for 2008?

  1. Those are some good goals! I think you’ll be surprised at how easily you meet some of those blogging goals. :)

  2. Maybe Pinyo will just give up and let us all in. ;)

  3. Great set of goals. Why are you only going to start hosting carnivals starting Q3? Are you busy with something else for the first half of the year?

  4. My goal this year is to put away 2 months’ equivalent of spending into my emergency fund. Eventually, I will have this up to 6 months. Got a few other things to budget for but still, I am in better shape than ever since going through credit withdrawal 5 years ago. Great post.
